Chemical Peels

Over time, your skin begins to show the effects of daily life, including sun exposure, environmental stress, and the natural aging process. These factors can cause dullness, uneven texture, fine lines, and discoloration that even the best skincare products may not fully correct. When at-home care is no longer enough, it may be time to explore a deeper treatment that helps your skin renew itself from within.

At Advanced Aesthetics in Las Vegas, NV, our customized chemical peel treatments exfoliate damaged skin, clear impurities, and promote the growth of healthy new cells. The result is a smoother, brighter, more even, and more youthful complexion.

What Are Chemical Peels?

A chemical peel is a professional skin-resurfacing treatment that uses a customized solution to remove damaged outer layers of skin. This controlled exfoliation stimulates cell turnover and collagen production.

Types of Chemical Peels

At Advanced Aesthetics, we offer a range of chemical peels tailored to address various skin concerns and individual comfort levels. Each peel varies in depth and intensity, allowing our providers to tailor treatment to your unique goals and skin type.

Light (Superficial) Peels

Light peels use mild acids, such as glycolic, lactic, or salicylic acid, to gently exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin. These peels are ideal for refreshing dull complexions, smoothing rough texture, and addressing mild acne or discoloration with minimal to no downtime.

Medium Peels

Medium peels penetrate deeper into the skin to improve moderate sun damage, pigmentation, and fine lines. Using ingredients such as trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or stronger glycolic formulations, these treatments reveal smoother and more even-toned skin after a few days of mild peeling and renewal.

Deep Peels

Deep peels are designed for more advanced concerns such as pronounced wrinkles, scars, or severe sun damage. These treatments reach deeper layers of the skin to deliver dramatic rejuvenation and a significant improvement in overall tone and texture. Due to their strength, deep peels require a longer recovery period.

Benefits of a Chemical Peel or Facial Treatment

Chemical peels in Las Vegas and facials have a number of distinct advantages. Benefits may include the ability to:

  • Cleanse pores
  • Hydrate the skin
  • Remove dead skin cells
  • Promote new cell growth
  • Create a revitalized, youthful look
  • Treat acne and wrinkles
  • Reverse sun damage and environmental effects
  • Correct skin tone
  • Tighten the skin

What to Expect for a Chemical Peel

Before Your Treatment

Before your chemical peel, we will evaluate your skin type, concerns, and goals to determine the most suitable peel strength and formulation. You may be advised to discontinue using exfoliating products, retinoids, or certain acne medications for several days before treatment to minimize irritation. It is also recommended to avoid prolonged sun exposure and self-tanning products to ensure your skin is calm and balanced on the day of your appointment.

During Your Treatment

Your treatment begins with a thorough cleansing to remove oils and impurities from the skin’s surface. The chemical peel solution is then applied evenly across the treatment area. You may experience a mild tingling or warming sensation as the solution works to exfoliate the skin and stimulate renewal.

Depending on the depth of your peel, the solution may remain on your skin for several minutes before being neutralized or gently removed. Most treatments take less than one hour, and you can expect an immediate feeling of freshness and smoothness.

After Your Treatment

Facial typically require no downtime. Superficial chemical peels in Las Vegas also do not usually require downtime, with many patients able to immediately resume normal activities. Medium-depth peels and deeper penetrating peels often require at least a few days of recovery time. Avoiding sunlight can help most patients heal more effectively.

Combination Peel Treatments With Facials

The strength and benefits of each combined chemical peel and facial varies on the type of solution, amount of solution applied, and period of time it is left on the skin. Some types of peels may be very mild with shorter-term results and others penetrate much deeper for longer-lasting benefits.

Microderm & European Facial

This treatment starts with a thorough cleansing of the face, followed by a microdermabrasion to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells, followed by an enzyme mask to remove debris, extractions, face, neck, and shoulder massage, hydrating mask, eye and facial moisturizer and sunscreen.

Glycolic or Lactic Acid Peel with Dermaplaning

This treatment starts with a thorough cleansing of the skin, followed by dermaplaning, a treatment to remove fine facial hair and exfoliate the skin. A Lactic Acid Peel, an alpha hydroxy acid that is non-irritating rapid exfoliator which is recommended for those with dry or sensitive skin and has a moisturizing effect, is applied to the skin.

For a more aggressive peel, Glycolic Acid 20 or 30%, also an alpha-hydroxy acid, is used to rejuvenate the skin to create a younger, firmer appearance. The peel is followed by a facial, neck and shoulder massage, moisturizer, eye cream and sunscreen.

Salicylic Peel & Facial

This treatment starts with a thorough cleansing of the face, followed by the application of Salicylic Acid 20 or 30%. This treatment is ideal for oily and/or acne prone skin types as it cleans pores and is a superior exfoliant that improves the appearance of sun damaged skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improving overall facial texture. Frequently Asked Questions About Chemical Peels

How soon can I expect to see results after a chemical peel?

You may notice an immediate improvement in your skin’s texture and brightness after a light peel. For medium and deep peels, visible results typically appear within one to two weeks as new, healthy skin replaces the treated layer.

Can I wear makeup after my peel?

For light peels, you can usually apply makeup within 24 hours. With medium and deeper peels, it’s best to wait until any redness or peeling subsides to avoid irritation and allow your skin to heal properly.

Light peels can be performed monthly to maintain healthy skin, while medium peels are typically done every few months. Deep peels are more intensive and are usually recommended only once every year or two.
