Gynecomastia is a condition in which men have excess fat and tissue in the chest, covering the pectoral muscles and even creating the appearance of male breasts. While many factors contribute to this condition, diet and exercise often cannot help men lose that fatty tissue, which is why liposuction is such an effective treatment option for gynecomastia.
Patients suffering from gynecomastia can schedule an initial consultation at our office to learn more about this procedure and determine whether they are good candidates. Then we can customize a surgical treatment plan accordingly.
How Does It Work?
Our body contouring procedures utilize 360 lipo techniques to help patients achieve the best treatment results. 360 lipo targets multiple body areas to ensure the best treatment outcome. This treatment method ensures that patients look proportional and achieve the most comprehensive results after the procedure.
For example, instead of simply eliminating stubborn fat cells from the front of the abdominal region, we perform 360 lipo to address the entire circumference of the body, targeting the sides and lower back for comprehensive results.
During a typical procedure, you will first receive the appropriate numbing solution to ensure your comfort. Then, we will use the right techniques to address your specific areas of concern. Treatment times vary based on the size and number of areas we treat during the procedure.
You’ll get more information about the length of your procedure at your initial consultation. You’ll need someone to drive you to and from your procedure and then should plan on resting immediately following.
Is There Downtime?
After the procedure, you will need to plan around a minimal amount of downtime. Patients will be provided with a compression garment to promote healing and reduce fluid retention. Most patients can resume normal activities and return to work within a few days. However, you may need to avoid more strenuous activities, like exercise, for a week or longer.
When Will I Notice the Results?
You may notice some initial results within a few weeks of the procedure. As the body heals, swelling subsides, and fluid drains, you’ll notice improved body contours and the benefits of significantly reduced fat volume in your target treatment area. At your initial consultation, we’ll give you more details about what type of results you can expect from your unique procedure and when you can expect them.

How Long Will My Results Last?
The results of liposuction are intended to be permanent. When the device removes fat cells directly from the body, they will be permanently gone. Each patient is predisposed to a specific number of fat cells by adolescence. When any fat cells are removed, the body will not regrow fat cells to replace them.
However, any remaining fat cells can expand, which will occur with enough overeating. If those remaining fat cells do expand, it may negatively impact your results.
